Kewaunee County Board of Supervisors

Last evening I was elected by the County Board Members to be their Chairman of the Kewaunee County Board of Supervisors.  I want to thank the board for allowing me to serve as Chairman and putting their trust in me to be their leader.

I also want to thank those Kewaunee County citizens who stepped forward to run for the supervisor positions in the recent election.  We have a very talented group of supervisors on the board who are committed to changing the way business has been done.  We have heard the voters, we respect the mandate we received and you can be assured we will not abdicate our responsibilities.  This will be a working board!

I have learned a lot over the past two years about our county.  We have serious challenges going forward.  It is my intention to work with the various committees to ensure we properly prioritize those challenges and then follow through with resolutions that are well thought out and equitable for all.

Thanks again, I appreciate the chance to serve.

Kewaunee County April 1, County Board Election results by district

Following are the results of the April 1 Kewaunee County Board elections.  What is disappointing is the fact that only 19% of registered voters in the county participated in the election.  In spite of that, there were some real surprises in that several incumbents were upset by a sizable number of votes.

Scattering could mean either a person voted in that district but didn't vote for a Supervisor position, or it could be a write-in vote.

Thank you for participating in your government!

Thanks to all those concerned citizens who turned out and voted in the Kewaunee County Board of Supervisors election on April 1st.  We now have a new board as there are nine new members who are bringing a wealth of experience in running the business of this county.

The composition of this new board, I believe, will provide a balanced and measured approach to the challenges facing our county.  From my vantage point, I view the results of this election as a clear message and mandate to the board for spending restraint and accountability.

Kewaunee County has many issues that need to be dealt with.  I am confident this new county board will deal with them starting with the first meeting on April 15th.

Thanks again

Ron Heuer
